David A. Holmes

David A. Holmes is the President and Managing Director of the Farr Law Firm. His practice includes asset protection, corporate and business law, real estate and civil litigation with an emphasis on business, commercial and construction disputes. In the area of construction law, Mr. Holmes regularly represents owners, general contractors, and lenders in connection with commercial and residential construction projects and disputes. He also regularly represents lenders and other creditors in mortgage foreclosures and the enforcement and collection of commercial debt obligations.

Mr. Holmes’ substantial litigation experience includes commercial and residential construction disputes, enforcement and collection of commercial debt obligations and mortgage foreclosures.  In the area of corporate and business law, Mr. Holmes advises and assists clients in the formation, organization and management of business entities and in contractual disputes.

Mr. Holmes, a Martindale-Hubbell AV rated attorney, joined the firm in 1993.  He is certified as a Circuit Court Mediator by the Florida Supreme Court.  Mr. Holmes received his Juris Doctor degree, cum laude, from Stetson University and his Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and History from the University of Florida. 

Mr. Holmes is a member of the Charlotte County Bar Association and served as Chairman of the 20th Judicial Circuit Grievance Committee “C” for Charlotte County.  He also serves as a member of both the Phi Kappa Phi Honorary Legal Fraternity and the Order of the Barrister.  While in law school, Mr. Holmes participated in trial advocacy competitions sponsored by the Association of Trial Lawyers of America.  He received the American Jurisprudence Award for Scholarship in Torts and was champion of a national mock trial competition in 1993 called the ATLA National Student Trial Advocacy Competition.
